The Oral Health Screening day was very well attended at Bedford Dental Surgery. Patients received a free cancer screening that day. We remind patients that at every examination at Bedford Dental Surgery, a full Oral health check is always carried out.

Gum shields for Meath Players

With their new gumshields, pictured with Geraldine are Meath players Joe Sheridan, Seamas Kenny and Brian Farrell. The players are all too aware of the potential damage that can be caused to teeth by a collision on the pitch.

G.M.S Patients

G.M.S. Patients:

Unfortunately further government cutbacks since April 2010 mean the Medical card patients may no longer have their teeth cleaned free of charge.

Two fillings are allowed /year and extractions on the scheme as normal.

Prior approval must be sought for any denture work.

Please contact the surgery for advice and to arrange an appointment.

P.R.S.I Patients

Unfortunately since January 2010 the P.R.S.I scheme only covers one examination per year. Prior to this a patient with enough P.R.S.I contributions could avail of a free scale & polish twice a year and one free examination a year. There was however a patient contribution towards fillings/extractions/dentures etc.

At Bedford Dental we are committed to achieving and retaining excellent oral health in our patients. The importance of regular screening for oral cancer and other pathology cannot be overestimated.It is also important to maintain a regular cleaning regime to retain healthy teeth and gums.

With this in mind the cost of a scale & polish has been reduced to €50 at Bedford Dental.
