Gum Shields

‘Prevention is better than cure’.

In order to protect the hard and soft tissues of the mouth during contact sports,it is vitally important to wear a gumshield. In some sports,( rugby for example) gumshields are compulsory. Damage resulting from a bang to the mouth during contact sport can range  from a broken tooth to the tooth being knocked out completely.

Dentists reccomend that ‘custom-made’ gumshields are worn thus providing the best protection and most comfortable fit. If the gumshield is comfortable it is more likely to be worn and not kept in the kit-bag where it is of no use at all!

At Bedford Dental a somple impression is taken and the gumshield will be ready within 3-4 working days. The gumshields can be made in a clear material or in the various colours of your club.
